About

In 2010, our story continues with the extension of our services to include Our new Pet Crematorium here on site, as well as our Personalized engraving Services. Each day in the gardens we see living proof of the need for our services and on going committment to pet owners.

Pets At Rest Memorial Gardens‘ philosophy was born out of the need for Tasmania to have not only an individual pet funeral service, but also a Pet Cemetery which was an asset for the people of Tasmania. We wanted to be a part of providing this for people and their pets as well as working toward  improving the environment for future generations by planting native trees and shrubs.

In 1998, Hobart’s first individual pet cremation service began. Then in 2000 we started the Memorial Gardens, to increase the range of services we could offer pet owners.

We are here to offer you – Comfort, Care and Choice through and beyond this stage in your pets’ life.

Pets At Rest is owned and operated by Greg & Lindy Cleeland -we are the face, heart and broad shoulders of this challenging and exciting business.

We have had the good fortune of growing up with animals and being able to surround ourselves with our precious Scottish Terriers. We love our pets, and understand all too well the pain of losing them.

Both Greg and I are community-minded people who are actively involved with many related groups. We know how many people need  support and we are more then happy to give it.

We breed and show Scottish Terriers – we know the joy of new life and the unbearable sadness of loss.

The Memorial Gardens are a vital part of our rural property –and our life – as are all the pet owners who we have been able to assist in some small way over the years. Seeing the Memorial Gardens, alive with families visiting their pets, tending to the new trees and working together toward a better environment, is the realization of our dreams which began when we lost our Lily. ( Story Of Lily).

While the little native trees in the Memorial Garden and those in the Landcare area around the garden, struggle to grow and prosper, each day brings the garden closer to what we want it to be:  A beautiful place for Pets and their People – because how else can you say:

“Thank you – for a lifetime of Love.”
